Swapan Kumar Bhadra, a 65-year-old local #Hindu #Journalist and former vice-president of Tarakanda Press Club, was hacked to death in broad daylight around 11 AM in front of his home. Known for his outspoken stance against terrorism and injustices against #minorities in #Bangladesh, Swapan continued to write on social media despite threats.![]()
Some newsoutlet reports indicate that Swapan was targeted by local criminal Sagar Mia, but the truth remains elusive. Was he hacked to death for writing about the plight of minorities? Some eyewitnesses claim cadres of a #Islamist group were involved in the attack.![]()
